Just before the Interstellar Age began, the Colonial Confederation authorized the construction of three ramscoops, capable of transporting up to a thousand hibernating colonists across interstellar space at a third of light speed. The arrival of the macrojump starship Columbus from Atlantis rendered these vessels instantly obsolete, but with Atlantis retaining a monopoly on macrojump drive for over a quarter century, those three ramscoops did see service. Pictured above, the Zeus and Chronos were launched on a sixty year journey toward Delta Pavonis and the world of Aphrodite in 2206CE. A few years later, the Gaia would head toward the Atlantis colony at Alpha Centauri to eventually found and support the Proxima colony.
