High Aphrodite Bombardment
The terraformation of Venus was the most difficult endeavor untaken by Humanity in the Technological Age. For decades, the Venus Terraformation Project diverted large comets and Kuiper Belt objects to strike Venus obliquely and increase both water content and rotation. By 2155CE, this early large scale bombardment was coming to an end, and the great steam ocean began to rain onto the lowlands. Subsequent bombardments were limited to smaller objects, often chunked into dozens for fragments to limit damage to the developing, but still hellish, ecology of the world. In the later half of the 22nd century, the station at High Aphrodite coordinated the establishment of the first permanent outposts in the Maxwell highlands of Ishtar Terra.
