In the Rho

To combat piracy, the Kith'turi-Salvaatiki Union of Worlds established bases and automated listening posts across the vast Rho Ophiuchi nebula region.  From scattered planetoid bases, striker class sub-light vessels patrolled the turbulent nebula and responded quickly to detected intruders.  But across the vastness of the Rho and the neighboring Pipe Nebula and the Dark River leading to Antares, whole fleets could hid for centuries without detection.
