Oort Artifact

In 2141CE, half a light-year from Sol, the CSEA ramscoop Cousteau encountered a mysterious alien artifact during its survey of the Oort regions.  The 120 meter long alien artifact, only second encountered by Humanity, proved inscrutable, and an in-depth examination at Charon revealed little except its age: about twenty million years.
