Research Station
The Empire of Humanity maintained thousands of research stations on interesting worlds that were unsuitable for general colonization. The watery world of Hermann in Sector 287 orbits a late main sequence F5 star and suffers from ferocious storms and high temperatures. The world is best known for large ocean dwellers, including the Shiraka's Serpent. More an intimidating scavenger than a true predator and known for its shrill shriek, the creature is still an imposing encounter and adults have measured over fifty meters in length and one hundred fifty tons in mass.
