Stasis Fall

The War of Disintegration raged through thousands of systems, beginning the destruction of the Empire of Humanity that the Mech Plague would clinch.  When starships fell to battle or Plague, the survivors escaped in individual stasis pods, drifting down outside time and space, resting through the ages until the field collapsed.  Some are still waiting in shining spheres immune to entropy.
